Ways To Conquer Fear In Witnessing - Change your perspective on risk

Change Your Perspective On Risk

Instead of saying, “If I witness to this person, what do I have to lose?” (Your life, your job, your friends) Say, “If I witness to this person, what do I have to gain?” (A brother/sister in Christ, being obedient to God). Why does witnessing always be associated with a negative feeling? Why do we as Christians focus on the negative? How do you feel about the following verses?

1 Peter 4:12-14 – Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

Matthew 5:11-12 – Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:22-23 – Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you, and revile you, and cast your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.

Wow, wouldn’t you love to have the Spirit of glory and of God rest upon you. Wouldn’t you love to have great rewards in heaven, or even glorify God in being reproached for His name sake? It would be to God as worship. I would take that any day of the week. For even if we suffer…it would be a win / win situation.
